Volumetric Weight

Volumetric Weight

Understanding Volumetric Weight:

When material is light in weight but occupies a larger space due to its dimensions, it is charged based on volumetric weight calculations. This ensures fair pricing for shipments with significant volume relative to their actual weight.

Calculation of Volumetric Weight
  • Surface Mode (Domestic): 1 Cubic Feet (CFT) = 10 Kg
  • Volumetric Weight Formula: (L × B × H in cm) ÷ 4000
  • Air Mode (Domestic): (L × B × H in cm) ÷ 5000
  • International Shipments: (L × B × H in cm) ÷ 5000
Important Guidelines
  • Parcels with a length exceeding 100 cm on any side should not be booked via Rail or Air modes.
  • Single pieces weighing more than 80 kg cannot be booked without prior approval from operations and may incur additional costs.

Ensure accurate dimensions are provided during booking to avoid discrepancies in shipment charges.
